What happens when we wrap your kitchen
Wrapping is about as painless as updating a kitchen gets. There's no demolition, no skip bin and no weeks without a kitchen. Most are finished in one to two days, you keep using the space throughout, and we take the doors away clean and bring them back wrapped. Here's exactly what happens, start to finish, and the few small things you can do to make the day run smoothly.
From quote to booked
It starts with photos. Send a few of your doors, panels and benchtop with rough measurements through the quote form, and a fixed price comes back within one business day, usually with sample finishes picked for your project. Approve the quote and your finish, we confirm a date, and that's it, no site visit needed to get going.
Before we arrive
A little prep from you keeps the day quick:
Clear the benchtops
Move appliances, canisters and clutter off the surfaces we'll be working on.
Empty a few cupboards
Just the ones whose doors are being wrapped, so handles and hinges are easy to reach.
Think about pets and parking
A quiet spot for pets and a place to park near the door helps us move doors in and out cleanly.
On the day
We lift the doors and drawer fronts off and take them to a clean, dust-controlled space to wrap, while panels, ends and kickboards are wrapped in place. Every surface is cleaned back to sound and smooth first, edges and reveals are wrapped so nothing can lift, and everything is rehung and adjusted. There's no spray booth, no fumes and very little mess, so you can usually keep using the kitchen while we work.
| Stage | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Doors and fronts off, surfaces prepped | First morning |
| Film applied, edges wrapped | Day 1 |
| Benchtop wrapped (if included) | Day 2 |
| Everything rehung and adjusted | Final afternoon |
Most kitchens are one to two days. A few fronts can be same-day; a large kitchen with a benchtop runs to two.
After it's done
Clean it with warm water and a soft cloth, use a board and a trivet as you would on any surface, and skip harsh abrasives. There's no sealing or polishing like stone or timber. The work carries our ten year warranty, and down the track you can re-wrap the same surfaces in a new finish for a fraction of replacing them.
The one thing that can extend a job is damage we couldn't see in the photos, like water swelling behind a door. If we find it, we'll stop and talk you through it before doing anything, never a surprise on the invoice.
Common questions
- Do I need to move out?
- No. There's no demolition and very little mess, so you stay put and keep using the space. Most kitchens are done in one to two days.
- Will there be fumes or dust?
- Very little. Wrapping has no spray booth and no solvents like a respray. We prep cleanly and take the doors away to wrap, so your home stays liveable throughout.
- Can I use my kitchen while you work?
- Usually yes. Panels are wrapped in place and doors are off for a short window; we work around you and rehang as we go.
- How soon can I use the benchtop?
- As soon as it's wrapped and the edges are set, typically the same day it's done. We'll let you know on the day.
